Methods to prevent overdosing of polyaluminium & amides

Author:XINHUAN Source: Date:2024/3/4 15:31:20

The method to prevent the use of  PAM and PAC is through experimentation. Small scale experiments, on-site experiments, etc, Alternatively, PAM can be used after water quality research to determine the quantity of PAM and PAC. We know that PAC is a coagulation of colloidal unstable chemicals used for water treatment, while PAM is a chemical that coagulates small melting points together to become a larger melting point chemical used for water treatment.

PAM usage and dosage determination:

Firstly, the higher the solid content, the more flocculants are used. Choose the molecular weight of  the fluorescent agent based on the needs amount of fluorescence during the cleaning process. The type of polyacrylamide ion must be selected through experiments.

Secondly, by increasing the molecular weight of the flocculant, the strength of the flocculant can be enhanced. Before processing, it is needs to completely mix and dissolve the flocculant and sediment. When selecting flocculants, full consideration should be given to process and equipment needs.

Steps to confirm dosage in the PAC method:

Firstly, based on different raw water conditions, a small test can be conducted to find the best dosage. For ease of calculation, a small testing solution is equipped based on the proportion of portions (W/W), typically ranging from 2% to 5%.

Secondly, add the optimal dose based on the small test dose and pay attention to research and adjustments during work. If fewer alum flowers are seen in the sediment pool and the turbidity is high, it means that the dosage is too low; If you see alum pouring out of the sedimentation tank with high turbidity, it means the dosage is too high and must be adjusted accordingly.

Why search for ways to prevent excessive Polymeric Aluminium Chloride(PACand Polyacrylamide(PAM? Let's take a look at what kind of adverse consequences excessive consumption can lead to.

1. The concentration of PAM preparation is generally around 0.1-0.2%, and low concentration is beneficial for mixing and saving chemicals;

2. When customers use PAC polyvinyl chloride solids, the general formula is 10% (by weight), indicating ease of measurement. In fact, this is not right, whether the dosage is too high or too low, it will result in poor sedimentation effect.

3. Excessive use of PAM can reduce the coagulation of some water, and the toxicity of water can cause secondary pollution or cannot be ignored. For organic flocculants, the production cost is generally high, and organic flocculants (such as polyacrylamide) can cause secondary pollution by degrading water monomers, Therefore, the application of organic flocculants in water treatment is limited, especially in the treatment of controlling drinking water.

Here, Yu Xin Huanghua Factory reminds everyone that when using water chemicals such as Polymeric Aluminium Chloride(PAC) or Polyacrylamide(PAM), a small test must be conducted to obtain the optimal dosage and achieve the optimal effect of water.
